    • What: GAIL (India) Limited has officially commissioned India’s first 10 Megawatt (MW) Green Hydrogen Plant at its Vijaipur complex in Guna district of Madhya Pradesh.
    • Details:
      • The project has been launched in line with the National Green Hydrogen Mission to achieve self-reliance in clean energy.
      • The plant utilizes Proton Exchange Membrane (PEM) electrolyzer technology imported from Canada.
      • It is powered by solar energy generated from a dedicated 20 MW captive solar plant to produce 4.3 tonnes of high-purity hydrogen per day.
      • The produced green hydrogen will be blended with natural gas for domestic and industrial supply, reducing carbon emissions.

    • Details:
      • The discovery was led by a team of astronomers from the Indian Institute of Astrophysics (IIA), Bengaluru, and the Tata Institute of Fundamental Research (TIFR), Mumbai.
      • The binary system consists of a stellar-mass black hole pulling matter from a companion star, creating a glowing accretion disk.
      • AstroSat’s Large Area X-ray Proportional Counter (LAXPC) instrument captured rapid intensity variations known as Quasi-Periodic Oscillations (QPOs).
